Le Festival cinémas d’Afrique – Lausanne est une manifestation annuelle, unique en Suisse. Il offre une programmation originale de films en provenance du continent africain. Il œuvre pour la promotion et la diffusion des cinémas africains, le soutien aux cinéastes et la sensibilisation du public, tout en conservant une dimension de divertissement culturel et convivial.
Il n’y a pas de compétition ni de prix attribué.

Date
La 18e édition du Festival cinémas d’Afrique Lausanne a lieu du 15 au 18 Août 2024.

Date limite
La date limite des inscriptions des films est fixée au 15 mars 2024.
Une fiche d'inscription doit être remplie online et une copie de visionnement du film envoyée au Festival avant la date limite.

Frais d’inscription
Il n’y a aucun frais d’inscription.

Critères de sélection
Le comité de sélection choisit les films qui seront présentés lors du Festival.

Seuls peuvent être choisis et invités des films répondant aux critères ci-après :
- Courts, moyens et longs métrages : fiction, documentaire, animation ou expérimental.
- Date de production : dès janvier 2022.
- Avoir pour sujet l’Afrique
- Qualité requise : les films doivent répondre à quelques critères techniques professionnels importants à respecter : images de qualité technique professionnelle : format image Full HD (1920x1080, 25 Progressive, respect des niveaux audio).
Une attention particulière est portée à la qualité artistique de l’image.
- Langue : les films en version originale non française doivent être sous-titrés en français ou en anglais.
- Ne pas avoir pas bénéficié d’une sortie en salle traditionnelle en Suisse. L’exclusivité nationale, mondiale ou internationale n’est pas demandée.
- Ne pas avoir été présentés à la télévision ni diffusés sur internet.
- La préférence sera donnée aux cinéastes et aux productions d’origine africaine

Inscription et envoi des films pour la présélection
- La soumission des films se fait exclusivement via le formulaire téléchargeable sur notre site : ici
- Support de visionnement : de préférence un lien H.264 (vimeo…) avec indication des dates de disponibilité.

Merci de veiller à ce que le lien soit valable au moins 2 mois.
En cas de lien expiré, aucune relance ne sera faite.
- L’inscription ne garantit pas une programmation du film et implique l’acceptation du présent règlement par les producteurs ou leurs représentants.

Confirmation des films sélectionnés
Un avis de sélection définitive (avec l’accord de projection à retourner signé) est adressé par email à la production et au/à la cinéaste à fin mai 2024.

Support de projection, version et sous-titres
Si le film est sélectionné, les copies de projection doivent parvenir au plus tard le 1er août 2024.
Cette date limite doit impérativement être respectée.

Format de projection
- Format video : idéalement H.264 (exemple : lien vimeo/wetransfer téléchargeable en 1080p) ou PRORES. Disque Blu-ray accepté. Au cas par cas, le format DCP peut être accepté.
- Le format beta numérique n’est pas accepté.
- Format audio :48Khz/16bits
-Version originale avec sous-titres en français au format « .srt ». Si le film n’a pas de sous-titres en
français, un fichier « .srt » des sous-titres en anglais est requis et les frais de traduction seront déduits des droits de projection.
- En cas de support de projection engageant des frais d’envoi et d’importation en Suisse et avec l’accord du Festival, les frais de réception et de renvoi seront pris en charge.
- Une fois sélectionné et l’accord sur les droits de projection signé, aucun film ne peut être retiré du programme au cours de la manifestation.

Documentation pour les films sélectionnés
Pour la présentation et la promotion du film sur différents supports (web et programme imprimé), le matériel suivant doit être envoyé (par mail ou Wetransfer) après réception de l’avis de sélection :
- Au moins 3 photos du film (images numériques, 300 DPI, JPG)
- L’affiche du film (en .pdf et .jpg)
- Un lien vers le trailer du film disponible en streaming (sur Vimeo, Youtube, Dailymotion, etc.)
- Affiches, flyers et autre matériel de promotion

Le Festival se réserve le droit d’utiliser ce matériel pour la promotion du film et du Festival.

Responsabilité du Festival
Le Festival s’engage à payer les droits de projections selon la grille de tarifs envoyée lors de l’annonce de sélection, sur présentation d’une facture.

Obligations des participants
La production/ réalisation / distribution doit confirmer que tous les droits d’images des personnes filmées ont été respectés et garanti qu’il/elle a le droit de soumettre et d’exposer le film proposé.

Goal
The African Cinema Festival - Lausanne is an annual event, unique in Switzerland. It offers an original programming of films from the African continent. It strives to promote and disseminate African films, support African filmmakers and raise public awareness, while ensuring that it maintains its features of cultural and convivial entertainment. It is not a film competition.

Dates
The 18th edition of the African Film Festival - Lausanne will take place from 15th to 18th august 2024

Deadline
The registration deadline for films is March 15th, 2024.
A registration form must be completed, and a viewing copy of the film sent to the Festival by the deadline.

Registration fees
There are no registration fees

Selection criteria
The Selection Committee selects the films to be presented at the Festival.
Only films fulfilling the following criteria may be selected and invited:
- Short, medium and feature films, fiction, documentary, animation and experimental.
- Language: films in the original non-French version must be subtitled in French or in English.
- Have been produced at the earliest in January 2022.
- The subject matter must relate to Africa.
- The films must fulfil technical professional criteria:
Images of professional technical quality: full HD image format (1920x1080, 25 Progressive, conform to audio levels).
Pay particular attention to the artistic quality of the image, avoiding overexposure, colorimetric errors (white balance) and fuzzy planes (focus errors)
- Not to have been shown on television or broadcast on the internet. We accept all films that have not been released in the cinemas in Switzerland. We do not ask for national, global or international exclusivity.
- Preference will be given to filmmakers and productions of African origin

Registration and sending films for pre-selection
- The submission of the films is done exclusively via our form downloadable on our site.
- Viewing support : preference for H.264 links (vimeo ...)

Please ensure that the link is valid for at least 2 months.
If the link has expired, no reminder will be sent.
The selection process may extend until the beginning of June, please inform us if some screeners have limited availability. The registration does not guarantee the screening of the film and indicates the acceptance of the present regulation by the producers or their representatives.

Confirmation of selected films
A final selection notice (with the projection agreement to be signed and returned) is sent by e-mail to the producer or filmmaker no later than end of may 2024.

Copy of the film, version and subtitles
- If the film is selected, the projection copies must reach us no later than August 1st , 2024. This deadline must be strictly respected.

Projection format
- Video Format: ideally an H.264 (example: link vimeo / wetransfer downloadable in 1080p) or a PRORES. BLU RAY support accepted. On a case-by-case basis, the DCP format can be accepted. We cannot project a film on digital beta media.
- Subtitles: original language with French subtitles: “.srt” format.
If the film does not have French subtitles, an “.srt” file of the English subtitles will be required and the translation fees will be deducted from the projection fees.
- Audio Format: 48Khz / 16bit
- Once selected and the agreement on the screening rights signed, no film can be removed from the programme during the event.

Documentation for selected films
For each selected film, the material below must be sent after receipt of the selection notice, either by email or Wetransfer:
- At least 3 photos of the film (digital images, 300 DPI, JPG)
- The poster of the film (in .pdf and .jpg)
- A link to the trailer of the film available in streaming (on Vimeo, Youtube, Dailymotion, etc.)
- Posters, flyers and other promotional material

The Festival reserves the right to use this material for the promotion of the film and the Festival.

Responsibility of the Festival
The Festival safeguards the projection copy from the time it arrives at the Festival office and until it is reshipped. In the event that a projection copy should be lost or damaged during the Festival, the latter will bear the costs of a new standard copy, according to the rates in force. The Festival agrees to pay the projection fees according to its tariff grid sent during the selection announcement, upon presentation of an invoice.

Obligations of participants
The producers confirm that all the image rights of the people filmed have been respected.
